What the district notes
- District 50 runs a modified calendar with intersessions: a week and a day off in the fall (Sept. 29 to Oct. 6) and extra days off before winter break (Dec. 15) and spring break (March 29). The calendar marks Sept. 29, Dec. 15 and March 29 as remediation days; the rest of the intersession is a break for all students. Check with your school if your child is asked to attend remediation.
- The three weather makeup days (Tuesday, Jan. 2, Presidents Day, Feb. 19, and Friday, May 25) are days off unless the district needs them. If May 25 is used, it becomes the last day of school.
- Friday, March 30 is a holiday with schools and offices closed, and Thursday, March 29 is a remediation day, so most students are off from March 29 through spring break (April 2 to 6), back Monday, April 9.
- Tuesday, Nov. 7 is a holiday with schools and offices closed, and Monday, Nov. 6 is an inservice day, so students have a four-day weekend.
