Privacy Policy

KidsFoldr ("we," "us") helps parents turn photos of school papers — flyers, permission slips, team schedules — into calendar events. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you can control it.
Information we collect
Account information. Your email address and password, or, if you use Sign in with Apple or Google, the identifier those services provide us — we never see your Apple or Google password.
Photos you scan. When you photograph a document, the image is sent securely to our extraction service, which uses Anthropic's Claude API to read the page and identify events. By default, the photo is kept only on your device. If you turn on cloud scan storage (available on paid plans), a copy is also stored on our servers for 60 days so you can view the original document from the app, then automatically deleted.
Event details. The event information extracted from your scans (titles, dates, times, locations) is stored in your account so it can appear on your Events screen and be added to your calendar.
Child names. If you add your children's first names to tag events (e.g. "Soccer practice — Jamie"), that name is stored as part of your own account for your personal organizing use only. KidsFoldr is a tool for parents and guardians — we don't knowingly collect information directly from children, and children don't create their own accounts.
Subscription status. If you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment partner RevenueCat and the App Store or Google Play tell us your subscription tier and renewal status. We never see or store your payment card details — Apple and Google handle that directly.
How we use this information
- To extract events from your scanned documents and show them to you for review.
- To let you add those events to a calendar already set up on your phone (iCloud, Google, or Outlook — whichever you've connected in your device's own Settings app). We only add events you choose to import; we don't read the rest of your existing calendar.
- To enforce your plan's monthly scan limit and manage your subscription.
- To provide customer support when you contact us.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data. We share the minimum necessary with the services that make KidsFoldr work:
- Anthropic — processes scanned photos to extract event text (their API, not used to train their models on your data beyond their standard API terms).
- Supabase — hosts our database and authentication.
- RevenueCat — manages subscription status.
- Apple / Google — process sign-in and subscription payments.
Your choices
You can edit or delete child tags and scanned events from within the app at any time. To delete your account and all associated data, email support@kidsfoldr.app from the email address on your account.
Children's Privacy
KidsFoldr is designed for use by parents and guardians, not by children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. The only child-related information stored is a first name entered by a parent for their own event organization, not collected from or provided by the child.
Security
Your data is encrypted in transit and access to your account's data is restricted to you alone through our database's access controls.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify you in the app.
