What the district notes
- Kindergarten starts with everyone on Tuesday, Aug. 31. Kindergartners then have no school Tuesday, Sept. 7 and Wednesday, Sept. 8 for kindergarten conferences.
- Mercer Island High School quarters end Friday, Oct. 8 (a day with no school), Friday, Jan. 21 and Friday, March 24 (a weather makeup day). Islander Middle School and elementary trimesters end Wednesday, Nov. 24 and Friday, March 17. The calendar does not print the final quarter or trimester end.
- On Wednesday, Nov. 24, elementary students have no school (conferences), and middle and high school students have a half day; MIHS starts at its regular time.
- Half-day dismissal times are not printed on the calendar; check your school's bell schedule.
- March 24 and May 26 are scheduled weather makeup days, and so is June 20, after the last day. The district's rule: they are used for school if schools close for weather during the year; if they are not needed, they are days off. This page counts March 24 and May 26 as days off.
