Also worth knowing

• The calendar prints no parent-teacher conference days.
• The calendar prints no testing dates. The district posts a separate K-12 Uniform Statewide Assessment Calendar.
• The last day can move. If severe weather days have to be made up, school runs into the makeup days, June 1 to 6. The planned last day is Tuesday, May 30; it can fall from Tuesday, May 30 to Tuesday, June 6.
• After the last day, the calendar still shows professional duty day (on campus, no school for students) (May 31) and Juneteenth (June 19). Students are already out.

First and last day of school

The first day of school is Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2027. The last day is Tuesday, May 30, 2028, with early dismissal, as planned. It can fall anywhere from Tuesday, May 30 to Tuesday, June 6: if severe weather days have to be made up, school runs into the makeup days, June 1 to 6.

Teachers start sooner. Staff days before school run Aug. 2 to 9.

Grading periods

Lee County grades in quarters, two to a semester. The calendar prints 85 days for the first semester and 95 for the second. It prints 45 days for the 3rd quarter and 50 for the 4th, but its own dates (Jan. 4 to March 9, and March 20 to May 30) give 46 and 49, so the table shows our count of the dates.

What the district notes

• If severe weather closes schools for longer, the district shifts the calendar to make up the days.
• Jewish holidays on the calendar begin at sundown the day before the listed date.
• The calendar marks Oct. 4 to 8 and Feb. 7 to 11 as FTE weeks, the weeks Florida counts enrolled students.

How we checked these dates

We read every date off the district's own calendar twice: once from the PDF's text and once from the image, cell by cell against its legend.

Every weekday on this page matches its date. If the district changes its calendar, its page is the final word.
