Teacher workdays: no school for students
One of the days off is a staff day. Teachers work; students stay home. Plan child care as you would for a holiday.

Makeup days
The district calendar names no makeup days. If school closes for weather, the district announces how the day is made up.

- School is open on a federal holiday: Columbus Day (Monday, Oct. 12). Banks, post offices and many offices close; school does not.
- The district calendar prints no testing dates.
- Days off for some schools only: Wednesday, Sept. 2 to Friday, Sept. 4, kindergarten only. Other schools are open. The list is under Vacations and holidays.

The first day of school is Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2026 for grades 1-6, 9 and all CB Tech students and Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026 for grades 7, 8, 10, 11 and 12. The last day is Friday, June 11, 2027, with early dismissal.

The calendar prints the end of quarters 1 to 3; the 4th quarter runs to the last day of school.

What the district notes
- Every Monday starts one hour late.
- Kindergarten starts later: no school for kindergarten Sept. 2-4 (WaKIDS conferences), then kindergarten starts during Sept. 8-10, with half of the students attending the first day and half the second. Check with your school for your child's day.
- On the conference early release days (Nov. 3-6 and March 26), CB Tech keeps its regular schedule, and grades 9-12 have professional development or conferences. The calendar prints no dismissal time for conference days; the other early releases are 3.5 hours early.
- The calendar also lists one more early release with the date to be determined (TBD), and graduation dates for Moses Lake High School and Vanguard Academy / Digital Learning Center as TBD. Watch for district announcements.
