- School is open on some federal holidays: Veterans Day (Wednesday, Nov. 11) and Washington's Birthday (Presidents' Day) (Monday, Feb. 15). Banks, post offices and many offices close; school does not.
- After the last day, the calendar still shows Memorial Day (May 31) and staff development day (June 1). Students are already out.

What the district notes
- Early release times on Dec. 18 and May 28: ETMPA and elementary campuses at 12 p.m., Hudson PEP at 12:20 p.m., middle schools and Longview High School at 12:55 p.m., LEAD Academy and Dade at 11:30 a.m.
- The calendar shades April 5, the Monday after Easter, as a school day, but its key dates and the district's digital calendar both list it as a staff development day with no students. This page treats April 5 as a day off; confirm with your school.
- State testing windows: EOC testing Dec. 1-11, and EOC and STAAR testing April 6-30. Students have school on those days; check with your school for each student's test dates.
- Parent-teacher conferences: Monday, Nov. 2 (no school for students) and Friday, May 28 (the last day, an early release day).
- Fall break is Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 12-13, so students have a four-day weekend.
