Makeup days
The calendar dates no makeup days. It lists banked inclement weather days by level instead. If school closes for weather, the district announces how the day is made up.
Also worth knowing
- School is open on a federal holiday: Washington's Birthday (Presidents' Day) (Monday, Feb. 15). Banks, post offices and many offices close; school does not.
- After the last day, the calendar still shows teacher workday (June 4). Students are already out.

What the district notes
- The purple intersession weeks (Sept. 28 to Oct. 2, March 8 to 12, and June 7 to July 2) are extra school days only for students who are required to attend. For everyone else they are days off.
- EPISD prints 175 instructional days for elementary, middle and PK-8 schools, for ACE schools and for high schools.
- Early release times: elementary noon, middle and PK-8 11:35 a.m., high school 12:35 p.m., TMECHS 12:25 p.m. (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) or 12:05 p.m. (Tuesday, Thursday), ACE 11:35 a.m., YWA 12:30 p.m.
- Teachers get half-day credit on Jan. 4 and March 29 for extra hours worked during parent-teacher conferences. Teacher days in July (New Teacher Academy July 20 to 22, workdays and PD week) come before the first day.
- For state and local testing, EPISD posts a separate District Testing Calendar. State testing dates are subject to change by TEA.
