- School is open on a federal holiday: Columbus Day (Monday, Oct. 12). Banks, post offices and many offices close; school does not.
- The high school calendar prints no parent-teacher conference days.
- The calendar prints no testing dates.
- The last day can move. June 14, or as late as June 18 if the district uses the snow makeup days (June 16 to 18). The planned last day is Monday, June 14; it can fall from Monday, June 14 to Friday, June 18.
- After the last day, the calendar still shows Grading day (after the last day) (June 15). Students are already out.
First and last day of school
The first day of school is Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026. The last day is Monday, June 14, 2027, as planned. It can fall anywhere from Monday, June 14 to Friday, June 18: June 14, or as late as June 18 if the district uses the snow makeup days (June 16 to 18).
Teachers start sooner. Staff days before school run Aug. 25 to 31.
What the district notes
- June 16, 17 and 18 are built-in snow makeup days. If weather closes schools during the year, school days may be added in June, which moves the last day later.
- Thanksgiving break is the whole week of Nov. 23: Nov. 23 and 24 are staff development days and Nov. 25 to 27 are closed.
- The calendar does not name the holidays; it marks closed days SC ("Schools closed due to holiday or non-contract day").
How we checked the high school dates
We read every date off the district's own calendar twice: once from the PDF's text and once from the image, cell by cell against its legend. Then we checked our count of every school day against the day counts the district prints. They match.
Every weekday on this page matches its date. If the district changes its calendar, its page is the final word.
