What the district notes

  • School starts on two days. Tuesday, Sept. 8: kindergarten to 6th grade, 9th grade and Albany Options School. Wednesday, Sept. 9: grades 7-8 at Calapooia, Memorial, North Albany Middle and Timber Ridge, and grades 10-12 at South Albany and West Albany high schools.
  • Every Wednesday from Sept. 16 to June 9 is an early release day. The calendar does not print the dismissal time; check your school's Wednesday schedule.
  • Presidents Day (Feb. 15) and the week after school ends are potential weather makeup days. If the district needs them, school could run past June 17.
  • Elementary schools and Timber Ridge have extra days off: Oct. 22, Jan. 15, Feb. 12, and April 15-16 (conferences). Kindergarten has no school on Sept. 25.
  • Graduations: South Albany High School June 8, West Albany High School June 10 and Albany Options School June 11.

We read every date off the district's own calendar twice: once from the PDF's text and once from the image, cell by cell against its legend. Then we checked every day off and the first and last days (the key dates do not list the Wednesday early releases) against the GAPS Calendars page and its Key Dates for 2026-27. The other dates rest on the district's calendar alone.

Every weekday on this page matches its date. If the district changes its calendar, its page is the final word.
