Five of the days off are staff days. Teachers work; students stay home. Plan child care as you would for a holiday.

- After the last day, the calendar still shows staff day after school ends (May 28) and Memorial Day (May 31). Students are already out.

The first day of school is Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2026. The last day is Thursday, May 27, 2027.
Teachers start sooner. Staff days before school run July 29 to Aug. 3.
Grading periods
The calendar marks the beginning and end of each semester. Its list calls Dec. 17 "Last Day for Students": the last day of the first semester, before a staff day and winter break.

What the district notes
- Staff professional development days with no school for students fall on Fridays Oct. 2, Dec. 18 and April 16, Monday, Jan. 4, and Thursday, March 25 (before Good Friday), so each makes a long weekend.
- The calendar prints the number of student days in each month, 181 in all.
