On an iPhone

Open the downloaded file, or in Outlook on the web go to Add calendar, then Upload from file.

These files are a copy of the calendar today. If the district changes a date, download the file again.

Every day with no school for students, from the first day to the last: nine entries and 27 weekdays in all.

Twelve early release days in all. Six are for every school. The other six are for some schools only.

Calendar notes: what to plan around

Long weekends and breaks

Every stretch of three or more days with no school, counting weekends. A half day next to a weekend adds half a day.

• 4-day weekend: Friday, Sept. 4 to Monday, Sept. 7. Labor Day recess. Back Tuesday, Sept. 8.
• 2.5-day weekend: Friday, Sept. 25 at early dismissal to Sunday, Sept. 27. Half day. Back Monday, Sept. 28.
• 3.5-day weekend: Friday, Oct. 30 at early dismissal to Monday, Nov. 2. End of 1st quarter, half day and teacher professional development day. Back Tuesday, Nov. 3.
• 5-day weekend: Wednesday, Nov. 25 to Sunday, Nov. 29. Thanksgiving break. Back Monday, Nov. 30.
• 16 days off in a row: Saturday, Dec. 19 to Sunday, Jan. 3. Winter break. Back Monday, Jan. 4.
• 3.5-day weekend: Thursday, Jan. 21 at early dismissal to Sunday, Jan. 24. High school exams, half day for all and end of 1st semester (no school). Back Monday, Jan. 25.
• 3-day weekend: Friday, Feb. 12 to Sunday, Feb. 14. Teacher professional development day. Back Monday, Feb. 15.
• 4-day weekend: Friday, Feb. 26 to Monday, March 1. Mid-winter break. Back Tuesday, March 2.
• 10.5 days off in a row: Thursday, March 25 at early dismissal to Sunday, April 4. End of 3rd quarter, half day and spring break. Back Monday, April 5.
• 3-day weekend: Saturday, May 29 to Monday, May 31. Memorial Day. Back Tuesday, June 1.

One early release on a Friday or Monday makes a 2.5-day weekend.

Weeks with fewer than five school days

Ten weeks have fewer than five school days, and three weeks have none at all.

Teacher workdays: no school for students

Two of the days off are staff days. Teachers work; students stay home. Plan child care as you would for a holiday.

Makeup days

The calendar names no makeup days. Cancellations beyond what state law allows extend the last half day of school past Friday, June 11. If school closes for weather, the district announces how the day is made up.

Also worth knowing

• School is open on some federal holidays: Columbus Day (Monday, Oct. 12), Veterans Day (Wednesday, Nov. 11), Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Monday, Jan. 18) and Washington's Birthday (Presidents' Day) (Monday, Feb. 15). Banks, post offices and many offices close; school does not.
• Some days off may change: teacher professional development day, Nov. 2 (May become a half day for students (half day of professional development) if state law changes keep PD days from counting toward the 180 instructional days) and teacher professional development day, Feb. 12 (May become a half day for students (half day of professional development) if state law changes keep PD days from counting toward the 180 instructional days).

First and last day of school

The first day of school is Monday, Aug. 31, 2026. The last day is Friday, June 11, 2027, with early dismissal.

Teachers start sooner. Staff days before school run Aug. 25 to 27.

Grading periods

The calendar marks the end of the 1st semester on Friday, Jan. 22, a day with no school, so the 2nd quarter's last school day is Jan. 21.

What the district notes

• Half days end at noon at elementary schools (12:20 p.m. at Woodland Elementary) and at 10:55 a.m. at middle and high schools. Full days run 8:35 a.m. to 3:40 p.m. at elementary schools (Woodland 8:55 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and 7:40 a.m. to 2:40 p.m. at middle and high schools.
• High school exams run in the morning only on Jan. 18-21 and June 8-11; high school students have no classes in the afternoon. The district says exam dates may be adjusted for religious holidays.
• On the state testing days (Wednesday, Oct. 14, and Wednesday and Thursday, April 14-15), only the grades being tested report to school; the other middle and high school grades learn from home that day.
• If school is canceled more often than state law allows, the last half day of school (and high school exams) moves past Friday, June 11.
• High school graduations are May 20-28 (dates may change with venue availability); seniors' last day of classes does not change.
