What the district notes
- Elementary and middle schools open 4 hours late on Wednesday, Oct. 28 and Thursday, Oct. 29 for evening parent-teacher conferences. Lunch is served. High school students attend the full day.
- Full-day Pre-K for 4-year-olds runs Monday to Friday on the K-5 schedule. Half-day Pre-K for 3-year-olds runs Monday to Thursday, with no half-day Pre-K on the October conference days (Oct. 28 to 30).
- Maryland requires 180 school days. FCPS set aside six weather make-up days, June 7 to 11 and June 14. Any that are needed extend the year past June 4, and if more days are needed the year runs later still. Teachers' last day, June 7, follows the last day for students.
- High school students taking the biology and government end-of-course tests get their final report cards about three weeks after the state sends scores.
