What the district notes
- School starts in steps. Monday, Aug. 30: grades 1 to 5, 6 and 9. Tuesday, Aug. 31: grades 1 to 12. Pre-K and kindergarten begin with parent conferences on Aug. 30 and 31, then three staggered groups on Sept. 1 to 3; all attend from Tuesday, Sept. 7. ECSE students all attend from Sept. 1. Your school will tell you your child's group.
- Seniors' last day is Friday, May 26.
- Pre-K, kindergarten and ECSE have one more no-school conference day in May, date to be announced.
- There is no afternoon ECSE on the four two-hour early dismissal days.
- After the three built-in makeup days are used, AACPS uses virtual learning days for closings when conditions permit.
