Weeks with fewer than five school days

Fourteen weeks have fewer than five school days, and three weeks have none at all.

Teacher workdays: no school for students

Two of the days off are staff days. Teachers work; students stay home. Plan child care as you would for a holiday.

• Tuesday, Nov. 3: Election Day, no school (PK-8 parent conferences; high school staff training)
• Tuesday, May 4: Town election, no school (staff professional development)

Makeup days

No makeup days are dated inside the year. The 180 days do not include five provisional snow days, June 22 to 25 and June 28, which add to the end of the year if snow days are used. If school closes for weather, the district announces how the day is made up.

Also worth knowing

• The calendar prints no testing dates.
• Days off for some schools only: Monday, April 26, kindergarten only. Other schools are open. The list is under Vacations and holidays.
• The last day can move. June 21 if no snow days are used; each snow day adds one of the five provisional snow days (June 22 to 25 and June 28), so the year can run to June 28. The planned last day is Monday, June 21; it can fall from Monday, June 21 to Monday, June 28.

First and last day of school

The first day of school is Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2026 for grades 1 to 12 and Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026 for pre-K and kindergarten (orientation Sept. 2 to 4). The last day is Monday, June 21, 2027, with early dismissal, as planned. It can fall anywhere from Monday, June 21 to Monday, June 28: June 21 if no snow days are used; each snow day adds one of the five provisional snow days (June 22 to 25 and June 28), so the year can run to June 28.

Teachers start sooner. Staff days before school run Aug. 31 to Sept. 1.

How we checked these dates

We read every date off the district's own calendar twice: once from the PDF's text and once from the image, cell by cell against its legend. Then we checked each one against the district calendar page and the district's interactive calendar.

Every weekday on this page matches its date. If the district changes its calendar, its page is the final word.
