Weeks with fewer than five school days

Nine weeks have fewer than five school days, and three weeks have none at all.

Makeup days

Belmont has no separate makeup days: five snow days are built into the end of the year, so each snow day used moves the last day later, from June 15 up to June 23. If school closes for weather, the district announces how the day is made up.

Also worth knowing

• The district calendar lists no parent conference dates.
• The district calendar prints no testing dates.
• Days off for some schools only: Thursday, May 6 to Friday, May 7, kindergarten and preschool only. Other schools are open. The list is under Vacations and holidays.
• The last day can move. June 15 if no snow days are used; each snow day adds a school day, up to Wednesday, June 23 if all five allocated snow days are used (June 18, Juneteenth, stays a day off). The planned last day is Tuesday, June 15; it can fall from Tuesday, June 15 to Wednesday, June 23.
• After the last day, the calendar still shows Juneteenth (observed) (June 18). Students are already out.

First and last day of school

The first day of school is Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2026 for grades 1-12 and Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026 for kindergarten (half the class starts Sept. 3, the other half Sept. 4; preschool starts Sept. 8). The last day is Tuesday, June 15, 2027, with early dismissal, as planned. It can fall anywhere from Tuesday, June 15 to Wednesday, June 23: June 15 if no snow days are used; each snow day adds a school day, up to Wednesday, June 23 if all five allocated snow days are used (June 18, Juneteenth, stays a day off).

How we checked these dates

We read every date off the district's own calendar twice: once from the PDF's text and once from the image, cell by cell against its legend. Then we checked every day off and early release from October on against the Belmont School Year Calendars page, the Belmont Middle School calendar, the Chenery Upper Elementary calendar and the Belmont High School calendar. The other dates rest on the district's calendar alone.

Every weekday on this page matches its date. If the district changes its calendar, its page is the final word.
