On an iPhone

Tap a file above, then tap Add All. The dates go into the calendar you choose.

In Google Calendar

On a computer, open Google Calendar, then Settings, then Import & export. Choose the file and the calendar to add it to. The dates show up on your Android phone too.

In Outlook

Open the downloaded file, or in Outlook on the web go to Add calendar, then Upload from file.

These files are a copy of the calendar today. If the district changes a date, download the file again.

Jeffco early release days

The 2027-28 district calendar prints no early release or half days.

Schools can still send their own early dismissal notices, so watch for those.

Calendar notes: what to plan around

Long weekends and breaks

Every stretch of three or more days with no school, counting weekends.

• 3-day weekend: Saturday, Sept. 4 to Monday, Sept. 6. Labor Day. Back Tuesday, Sept. 7.
• 3-day weekend: Friday, Sept. 17 to Sunday, Sept. 19. Teacher staff development day (no school for students). Back Monday, Sept. 20.
• 4-day weekend: Saturday, Oct. 9 to Tuesday, Oct. 12. Fall break. Back Wednesday, Oct. 13.
• 3-day weekend: Saturday, Oct. 30 to Monday, Nov. 1. Teacher staff development day (no school for students). Back Tuesday, Nov. 2.
• 9 days off in a row: Saturday, Nov. 20 to Sunday, Nov. 28. Thanksgiving break. Back Monday, Nov. 29.
• 18 days off in a row: Saturday, Dec. 18 to Tuesday, Jan. 4. Winter break. Back Wednesday, Jan. 5.
• 3-day weekend: Saturday, Jan. 15 to Monday, Jan. 17. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Back Tuesday, Jan. 18.
• 4-day weekend: Friday, Feb. 18 to Monday, Feb. 21. Teacher staff development day (no school for students) and Presidents Day. Back Tuesday, Feb. 22.
• 10 days off in a row: Saturday, March 18 to Monday, March 27. Spring break and teacher staff development day (no school for students). Back Tuesday, March 28.

Weeks with fewer than five school days

Eleven weeks have fewer than five school days, and four weeks have none at all.

Teacher workdays: no school for students

Four of the days off are staff days. Teachers work; students stay home. Plan child care as you would for a holiday.

• Friday, Sept. 17: teacher staff development day (no school for students)
• Monday, Nov. 1: teacher staff development day (no school for students)
• Friday, Feb. 18: teacher staff development day (no school for students)
• Monday, March 27: teacher staff development day (no school for students)

Makeup days

Also worth knowing

• School is open on a federal holiday: Veterans Day (Thursday, Nov. 11). Banks, post offices and many offices close; school does not.
• The district calendar prints no parent-teacher conference days.
• The calendar prints no testing windows.
• Some days off may change: teacher staff development day (no school for students), Feb. 18 (Potential snow makeup day: becomes a school day if the district needs to make up a snow day) and teacher staff development day (no school for students), March 27 (Potential snow makeup day: becomes a school day if the district needs to make up a snow day).
• After the last day, the calendar still shows teacher staff development day (May 26), Memorial Day (May 29) and Juneteenth (June 19). Students are already out.

First and last day of school

The first day of school is Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2027. The last day is Thursday, May 25, 2028.

Teachers start sooner. Staff days before school run Aug. 10 to 17.

What the district notes

• Schools add their own modified contact days, when students attend on modified hours. They are on each school's calendar, not this one.
• The calendar counts 171 student contact days: 79 in the first semester and 92 in the second. Teachers work 185 days.

We read every date off the district's own calendar twice: once from the PDF's text and once from the image, cell by cell against its legend. Then we checked each one against the Jeffco Calendar & Events page and the Spanish edition of the family calendar.

Every weekday on this page matches its date. If the district changes its calendar, its page is the final word.
