Teacher workdays: no school for students
One of the days off is a staff day. Teachers work; students stay home. Plan child care as you would for a holiday.

The calendar names no makeup days. If school closes for weather, the district announces how the day is made up.

- School is open on a federal holiday: Columbus Day (Monday, Oct. 9). Banks, post offices and many offices close; school does not.

What the district notes
- Teachers work one more day after students leave, Friday, June 15. The district is closed June 18 and 20 and on June 19.
- The calendar counts 180 student days and 185 staff days for the year.
- Winter break runs two weeks for everyone, Dec. 25 to Jan. 5, and students also stay home Jan. 8 and 9 while staff train. Students return Wednesday, Jan. 10.
