Every stretch of three or more days with no school, counting weekends. A half day next to a weekend adds half a day.

Teacher workdays: no school for students

Two of the days off are staff days. Teachers work; students stay home. Plan child care as you would for a holiday.

Makeup days

The calendar names no makeup days. If school closes for weather, the district announces how the day is made up.

Also worth knowing

  • School is open on a federal holiday: Columbus Day (Monday, Oct. 11). Banks, post offices and many offices close; school does not.
  • The calendar prints no parent-teacher conference days.
  • After the last day, the calendar still shows Graduation and staff development day (June 8), Juneteenth (June 19) and Independence Day (July 4). Students are already out.

What the district notes

  • Every Monday that is a school day from Aug. 16 to May 22 is a staff collaboration day, and students leave 1 hour early. The calendar prints no dismissal time; check your school's bell schedule.
  • Winter break runs Dec. 20 to Jan. 7, and Jan. 4 to 7 is Wintersession. Students return Thursday, Jan. 13, after two staff development days (Jan. 10 and 11) and an all-staff workday (Jan. 12).
  • Spring break is April 17 to 21, after the Spring Fair minimum day on Thursday, April 13 and a spring vacation day on Friday, April 14.
  • Back to School Night is Thursday, Aug. 26.
  • Finals run Dec. 15 to 17, ending the fall semester, and June 5 to 7, ending the year. Graduation is Thursday, June 8, the day after the last day of school.
