On an iPhone

In Outlook

Open the downloaded file, or in Outlook on the web go to Add calendar, then Upload from file.

These files are a copy of the calendar today. If the district changes a date, download the file again.

Every day with no school for students, from the first day to the last: 11 entries and 32 weekdays in all.

CUSD early release days

26 early release days in all. Nine are for every school. The other 17 are for some schools only.

Where the time varies by school, your school sends its own dismissal time.

Calendar notes: what to plan around

Long weekends and breaks

Every stretch of three or more days with no school, counting weekends. A half day next to a weekend adds half a day.

• 3-day weekend: Saturday, Sept. 5 to Monday, Sept. 7. Labor Day. Back Tuesday, Sept. 8.
• 3.5-day weekend: Friday, Sept. 18 at early dismissal to Monday, Sept. 21. Student minimum day and staff learning day (no school for students). Back Tuesday, Sept. 22.
• 3-day weekend: Friday, Oct. 23 to Sunday, Oct. 25. Staff learning day (no school for students). Back Monday, Oct. 26.
• 9.5 days off in a row: Friday, Nov. 20 at early dismissal to Sunday, Nov. 29. Student minimum day and Thanksgiving break. Back Monday, Nov. 30.
• 2.5-day weekend: Friday, Dec. 11 at early dismissal to Sunday, Dec. 13. Student minimum day. Back Monday, Dec. 14.
• 16 days off in a row: Saturday, Dec. 19 to Sunday, Jan. 3. Winter break. Back Monday, Jan. 4.
• 3-day weekend: Saturday, Jan. 16 to Monday, Jan. 18. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Back Tuesday, Jan. 19.
• 2.5-day weekend: Friday, Jan. 29 at early dismissal to Sunday, Jan. 31. Student minimum day. Back Monday, Feb. 1.
• 9.5 days off in a row: Friday, Feb. 12 at early dismissal to Sunday, Feb. 21. Student minimum day and Presidents' Day break. Back Monday, Feb. 22.
• 2.5-day weekend: Friday, March 19 at early dismissal to Sunday, March 21. Student minimum day. Back Monday, March 22.
• 9 days off in a row: Saturday, April 10 to Sunday, April 18. Spring break. Back Monday, April 19.
• 2.5-day weekend: Friday, April 23 at early dismissal to Sunday, April 25. Student minimum day. Back Monday, April 26.
• 3.5-day weekend: Thursday, May 6 at early dismissal to Sunday, May 9. Student minimum day and staff learning day (no school for students). Back Monday, May 10.
• 3-day weekend: Saturday, May 29 to Monday, May 31. Memorial Day. Back Tuesday, June 1.

Four early releases on a Friday or Monday make a 2.5-day weekend.

Weeks with fewer than five school days

Eight weeks have fewer than five school days, and five weeks have none at all.

Teacher workdays: no school for students

Three of the days off are staff days. Teachers work; students stay home. Plan child care as you would for a holiday.

• Monday, Sept. 21: staff learning day (no school for students)
• Friday, Oct. 23: staff learning day (no school for students)
• Friday, May 7: staff learning day (no school for students)

Makeup days

The district's calendar lists no makeup days. If school closes for weather, the district announces how the day is made up.

Also worth knowing

• School is open on a federal holiday: Columbus Day (Monday, Oct. 12). Banks, post offices and many offices close; school does not.
• The district's calendar lists no testing dates.

First and last day of school

The first day of school is Thursday, Aug. 13, 2026. The last day is Friday, June 4, 2027, with early dismissal.

• This page covers every Cupertino school except Murdock-Portal Elementary. Murdock-Portal runs its own year-round calendar: students return July 30, 2026, with a fall break Sept. 28 to Oct. 9, spring break April 5 to 16 and a last day of June 11, 2027. See the district's Academic Calendar page for its dates.
• Transitional kindergarten (TK) students have minimum days for the first four weeks, Aug. 13 to Sept. 4. Kindergarten has minimum days on Aug. 13 and 14.
• The calendar does not print minimum day dismissal times. Each school posts its own on its bell schedule page.

Then we checked every date from Sept. 7 on against the district's Academic Calendar page, the district's CUSD Important Dates calendar and the Lawson Middle School calendar. The other dates rest on the district's calendar alone.

Every weekday on this page matches its date. If the district changes its calendar, its page is the final word.
